In a world where, if you had lead a good life, you would have a fast trip to the next stage of existence, something is terribly wrong. Manuel Calavera, a sort-of lost soul who is working towards his ascension by being a travel agent in The Land of the Dead discovers that either he is given all the clients which had lead evil lives (and therefore would have to wait a very long time to reach the next stage) or that someone is holding back on all of the good cases that would speed up Manuel's ascension. Fed up with this, Manuel decides to find out what exactly is going on. Is there something going on with the free passes (that very good people get)? And if so, who is behind it? And why?
Pandanggo has three stories with parallel themes converging in one event, the Kasilonawan Festival in Obando: a career woman learning to dance tango who is torn between her dance partner and live-in partner has to choose the man who will satisfy her dream of raising a family; a wife whose wish to conceive a baby boy to make her husband happy brings her feet to the festival, but fate has other plans of bringing the child into her life; and a modern woman who, amidst her medical condition that might render her childless for the rest of her life, finds connection with an ancient lore about fertility.
A lady performances the dance of Fandango.
Fandango, a short Lane made for Educational Pictures in 1928. It's pleasant enough, and amusing at times, as long as you don't require a plot or expect dimensional characters. If you want basic silent comedy chuckles, you'll get them. Our setting is Bullonia, "the land of romance, castanets, onions and sweet zephyrs of garlic." Actually, it looks rather like a back-lot version of Spain or Latin America. More to the point, the atmosphere suggests the Doug Fairbanks vehicle The Gaucho, which was in general release when this short was made.
A Fine Step is an uplifting family drama centering on Cal Masterson (Luke Perry, Beverly Hills 90210) an award winning horseman whose relationship with his beloved horse Fandango allows him to achieve multiple championship wins. However tragedy strikes when Cal and Fandango are involved in a serious accident, ending Cal's horse riding days forever. Cal's devastation is slowly overcome when his new neighbour, 14 year old Claire Mason (Anna Claire Sneed, Glee) takes an interest in Fandango and convinces him that Fandango's competing days might not be over.
Circus Fandango is a 1954 Norwegian drama film directed by Arne Skouen. It was entered into the 1954 Cannes Film Festival.
Fandango is a country music-themed quiz show which aired on TNN from March 8, 1983 to March 31, 1989, when it was replaced by Top Card. Fandango was the first TV game show to air on TNN and was one of the longest-running game shows on a cable network. The show was hosted by singer Bill Anderson, who was joined by Blake Pickett as co-host in 1987. Disc jockey Charlie Chase has sometimes been identified as the voice of "Edgar the Talking Jukebox", but Anderson's autobiography Whisperin' Bill names Edgar's voice as being that of Anderson's long-time friend, radio announcer Bill Robinson.
